Your Role

Saab's test operations are expanding in the coming years, and we are now looking for you who want to be part of the exciting testing of Gripen E/F's HMI (Human Machine Interaction, i.e., the cockpit) and tactical systems, as well as our training simulators. HMI focuses on the design of the user environment, with a particular focus on the pilot's interactions and information needs in the cockpit.

Generally, the role of a Flight Test Engineer involves a combination of theoretical and practical work. You will, among other things, develop test methodologies and test programs, prepare and lead tests in various test stations, and analyze and evaluate results. Testing is conducted in rigs, simulators, and aircraft.

You will become part of a team working with testing across a broad spectrum of technical areas. The work group collaborates closely with the development department, other areas within the flight test department, as well as suppliers and customers. The work environment is characterized by lack of hierarchy, good cooperation, and everyone helping out where needed.

The role of Flight Test Engineer also includes a training program that will provide you with opportunities for continuous development.

Your Profile

You are a curious, positive person with good collaboration and communication skills, as the role involves coordination and cooperation with stakeholders such as pilots, system developers, and customers. You take independent responsibility for moving work forward and adapt easily to changing conditions in everyday life. Since we have both technical breadth and depth, there are good opportunities for varied tasks, personal development, and career prospects.

To thrive in the role, you should have a genuine interest in technology and appreciate order and accuracy, as all work is documented carefully. Documentation is primarily done in English, which is why it is necessary for you to have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.

We would like you to:

• Have experience with verification and validation of complex technical systems.
• Be knowledgeable and engaged in aviation, defense technology, and tactical use of combat aircraft systems.
• Be curious, self-motivated, and have a desire to constantly develop and learn more about the technology and its use.

You have an educational background as a Master of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or another technical education, preferably with a focus on cognitive science or similar. Previous experience in system development and/or testing related to non-software is advantageous.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
